Material Risks Risk Management Approach Cyber Security and Information Risk The Company depends on information technology systems and third-party service providers to operate its business and to hold commercially sensitive technical, financial and personal information. A cyber incident, system failure or data breach could result in loss or corruption of data, disclosure of confidential information, disruption to operations, regulatory action under privacy legislation, financial loss including through payment redirection fraud, and reputational damage. The risk of targeted attack and of payment fraud is heightened where the Company transacts internationally. The Company maintains access controls, multi-factor authentication, managed email and endpoint protection, and backup arrangements through established service providers. Payment authorisations require dual approval, and changes to counterparty banking details are verified independently of the request that initiated them. Personnel receive periodic awareness training. The Board is informed of material incidents and of changes to the Company’s control environment. Securities and Continued Listing Risk The Company’s securities are quoted on ASX and their market price is affected by factors beyond the Company’s control, including general market conditions, commodity prices, investor sentiment towards small capitalisation exploration companies, and the level of trading liquidity in the Company’s securities. The Company’s securities may be suspended from quotation, or its listing removed, where it is unable to satisfy the ASX Listing Rules, including the requirements for continued quotation. A suspension may restrict the ability of shareholders to trade their securities and may limit the Company’s ability to raise capital. The Company maintains a continuous disclosure policy and supporting procedures, with disclosure decisions made by the Board and the Company Secretary and advice obtained where the disclosure position is uncertain. The Company engages with ASX proactively where a matter may affect the quotation of its securities and requests a trading halt or voluntary suspension where that is necessary to preserve an informed market. Compliance with the ASX Listing Rules is a standing item for the Board. War, Terrorism, and Natural Disaster Risks Geopolitical instability, acts of terrorism, government intervention, trade restrictions, sanctions, and natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods or severe weather can disrupt energy markets, supply chains and trade routes. These events may increase commodity price volatility, restrict access to capital or insurance, and materially impact the Company’s operations, financial performance and long-term objectives. The Company monitors global geopolitical and climate developments, diversifies key suppliers and logistics where possible, and maintains contingency and business continuity plans to limit operational disruption. Insurance cover is reviewed to address political and natural disaster risks, and financial models incorporate sensitivity analyses for commodity price and supply interruptions. While these measures reduce exposure, such external events remain largely outside the Company’s control. 43 Melbana Energy Limited Annual Report 2026
